CT – Computational thinking

TRILA participates in several international projects that aim to develop the teaching and assessment of computational thinking and informatics. The work is related to the teaching of mathematics through algebraic thinking and problem solving.

Learning paths

The learning paths for computational thinking are being developed by an international team, whose goal is to create study paths that are suitable for Finland and that take into account the context of mathematics. According to the basic education curricula, programming and algorithmic thinking are part of mathematics teaching.

CT&MathAble: Assessing computational and algebraic thinking

CT&MathAble project focuses on creating assessment tools for computational and algebraic thinking. Piloting was continued in the fall of 2024.

BeLLE research collaboration

TRILA is involved in the international research collaboration related to the ‘Majava’ competition. The Majava competition is commonly known as the Bebras competition. Bebras is Lithuanian and means beaver: the competition is originally from Lithuania. The name BeLLE comes from the words Bebras and ViLLE.
